Started first blog in 2009 on bloggers.com, from there to now a very long journey…
When I first started my blogging journey back in 2009, I had no idea that it would lead me into the world of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). At the time, Blogger (blogspot.com) was a popular platform for beginners to share their thoughts, ideas, and creativity. I was drawn to the simplicity of Blogger’s interface and the idea that anyone could publish their content for the world to see. I don’t know at that time this seemingly small step would evolve into a long and insightful journey into the realm of SEO.
The Beginning: Blogger and the Early Days of Blogging
I opted for Blogger because it was easy to set up and allowed for quick publishing. At first, I didn’t worry too much about optimization. I just focused on writing and sharing my thoughts. I didn’t fully understand how Google worked or why people kept talking about ranking, keywords, and backlinks.
However, as time passed, I noticed that some of my blog posts would get more attention than others. Some articles would appear in search results when I Googled specific keywords. This sparked my curiosity about how search engines ranked content. It wasn’t long before I discovered the fascinating world of SEO.
Discovering SEO: The Early Lessons
The term “SEO” became a buzzword as I began reading more about how Google and other search engines worked. I learned that creating high-quality content was just the start. If you wanted your blog to stand out, you needed to understand how search engines indexed and ranked content. That was when I started diving into SEO basics, which back in 2017 were less complicated than they are today.
